Old Fashioned Christmas
Each December, we hold a very simple, yet meaningful event we call the Old-Fashioned Christmas. It is a special service to celebrate the Christmas season in the fashion of early German immigrants, with live music, carols sung by the accompaniment of the historic pump organ, Scripture, history lesson, and the reading of “The Night Before Christmas” for the children. At the conclusion, candles are lit on the decorated 10 foot tall tree, the Tannenbaum, and Silent Night is sung, both in German and English. Free refreshments are held in the Heritage Barn immediately following. Suggested donations are $5/person.
